Exclusive Premiere: Mitchel Evan Releases “Leeches” Lyric Video

With a knack for captivating audiences through his charisma and confidence, self-proclaimed “No-Bullshit Americana” artist Mitchel Evan just released the lyric video for his newest single, “Leeches.” It’s a perfectly dreamy visual accompaniment for the roots-inspired folk song which perfectly brings to life the story his lyrics hold.

The video kicks off with the single’s album art brought to life, the water in the art sparkling like a real lake below a sunset. Animated stars sparkle and fall against the sky which slowly fade to night as Evan sings the exposition to his story – the lyrics float amongst clouds in the sky in front of superimposed clips of Evan recording the track, behind shadows of tree branches blowing in the wind. When the chorus begins, the background switches to a lake illuminated by a glowing blue moon in the night sky behind the lyrics about the intimate moment the song focuses on. The second verse returns us to the clouds, and in the next chorus the moon glows pink behind tree branches blowing in the wind. The scenes are a perfect combination of ethereal and mystifying, matching the alluring melodies of the track to bring the story Evan so vividly writes to life.

The lyric video for “Leeches” is Evan’s second lyric video release, following the accompaniment to his single “Band-Aid,” released a month ago. Known for his thought-provoking and wit-filled lyrics, Evan creates colorful scenes in his writing that are only enhanced further by his videos. The lyric video for “Leeches” is an enchanting experience you won’t want to miss
