CHAZ CARDIGAN’S NEW EP, HOLOGRAMA, IS OUT TODAY

Today, Chaz Cardigan released his new eight-track EP, Hologramaand shared the official video for the gloriously radiant track “Losing Touch.” He also announced plans for a November 19 livestream concert from Nashville. Listen to Holograma HERE.

“Losing Touch” is the final in a quadrilogy of videos Chaz made with Haoyan of America (Crumb, Cautious Clay) to accompany songs from Holograma. In the dizzying new clip, a holographic Chaz performs amid the virtual environment first glimpsed in the videos for “Everything’s Wrong” and “Middle of the Road.” View “Losing Touch”HERE.

The bittersweet song was inspired by a dream Chaz had about his estranged childhood best friend. “This has never happened to me before, but the chorus and the pre-chorus to that song were actually written in my dream,” recalls Chaz Cardigan. “I woke up in this half-awake state and did a voice memo, and it became a song about losing touch with someone who used to be like family to me.”

The third clip was the lyric video for “Room,” a dreamy slow-burning song about his first love. Writing the track, Chaz says, “just snapped me back into being 16, and I realized that feeling of being in love for the first time is something I’ve been chasing for so long.”

Chaz will celebrate the EP’s release with a special livestream concert from Nashville on Thursday, November 19 at 7PM CT. Joined by his band, he’ll perform Holograma in its entirety along with select songs from Vulnerabilia  plus “As I’ll Ever Be,” his contribution to the soundtrack for To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, and “Live A Little,” which was tapped for the promotional campaign for “Tiny World,” the new Apple TV Plus documentary series narrated by Paul Rudd.

Tickets for the livestream concert are available for purchase at https://www.momenthouse.com/chazcardigan.

During quarantine, Chaz has seen his TikTok following explode in response to the series of videos he’s posted, which offer up his take on current events in song form. He’s gained 100,000 new TikTok followers in just three months. Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness posted a clip of himself dancing around his kitchen to one of Chaz’s tunes, “Fascist Police State.” View Van Ness’ video HERE and Chaz’s original post HERE.

With the arrival of Vulnerabilia in February 2020, Chaz proved his talent for turning his deepest insecurities into wildly cathartic pop songs. Featuring his smash single “Not OK!” – a top 20 hit on Alternative Radio – Vulnerabilia found Chaz opening up about his panic disorder while also building a high-energy but beautifully nuanced sound. Billboard hailed him as a “certified 21st century pop artist and Flaunt observed, “Chaz injects emotion and feeling into his music, priding himself in the quality of his lyrics.” On HologramaChaz makes a new leap in what he calls “cracking codes to emotion,” sharing a batch of songs that show remarkable growth in both his life and his music.

“All of the songs are about looking back on old memories and re-contextualizing them, seeing everything in a new light now that I know myself better and I’m way more secure in who I am,” says the Nashville-based 25-year-old. “The songs came from the shifting of ideas and shifting of perceptions, and I saw them as these iridescent, shimmering colors, like a hologram.”
