Caleb Landry Jones Releases New Single/Video For “I’m On Top Of The World” b/w “Jug A Long Jam”

Earlier this year via Sacred Bones, actor, musician, and artist Caleb Landry Jones released his debut album, The Mother Stone, which NPR Music praised as “part Frank Zappa, part Syd Barrett, part White Album era John Lennon, it’s completely bonkers.” Today, Jones presents a new single “I’m On Top Of The World” b/w “Jug A Long Jam,” which champions his boundary-pushing work as a songwriter/arranger, propelling his music beyond hero worship and into exciting new territory. Recorded this past February, “I’m On Top of the World” is Jones’ most accessible pop song to date, channeling all of his maximalist urges into a three minute package of psych-pop brilliance. The self-directed video sees Jones compiling found footage that features notable pop culture figures, memorable viral moments, and oddball video clips. Its B-side, “Jug A Long Jam,” was recorded in 2019 and serves as a precursor of what is to come.

In conjunction with the new single, a super limited amount of original handmade art pieces by Jones is now available via Sacred Bones (examples pictured below). The works were created by Jones and his partner Katya Zvereva during lockdown on his Texas farm. Using mixed mediums, each unique piece (ranging from 8×8″ to 8.5×11″ in size) is numbered and signed by the artists. Those who place a purchase receive an instant digital download of “I’m On Top Of The World” b/w “Jug A Long Jam” and will be sent a random art piece. More info available at the Sacred Bones website.
