Tips to find the best bra

The underwear industry can be very challenging, especially when it comes to bras! Finding the perfect bra, the one that suits you ideally, often seems impossible every now and then, but don´t worry!

There´s a lot of information that will guide you through this rough journey to find the best bra, the brands that consider not only fashion but also diversity, because, let me assure you, there are many different types of bodies, many different shapes and proportions, everyone is unique!… Therefore, it´s not logical to pretend that one bra style fits all women. This is the reason why is so hard to find the perfect match, because the underwear industry manufactures all their designs in average sizes, the only thing that is considered is how it looks on a slim beauty standard body (as we are shown by the entertainment business), and not how is functional to everyone. So, we did a research to understand what things you should take in consideration when buying the perfect bra for you. You will find that not everything is lost; there are brands that care about functionality.

First thing first!

Before going hunting for your ideal bra, it´s important for you to know your measures. Have you ever took the time to measure your size properly? This may seem foolish but it´s relevant information to have when buying, especially if you are planning to shop online.
To know the perfect bra size you need to measure your under bust first. You will need a measuring tape and place it around your torso, over the ribs below your breast; by doing this you will know your “band size”. Then you have to measure your bust, placing the tape around your back at the high of your breast. Now you know the information needed to consult your bra size checking the sizing chart (you can find this chart online).
Once you know your size, you will be able to narrow down the search for the perfect bra for you.
Know your options

Keep in mind there are many types of bras: Underwire T-shirt, strapless, push up, sports, maternity, sensual, etc. Just to mention a few, for you will see there are much more. That is why you need to understand what you are looking for before undertaking this task. Think of the features you need your bra to have, that will point your search in the direction you must go.

The best bra brands are not the most expensive

It´s true you should invest all the money you can to buy your ideal bra, because usually high quality and long lasting underwear means supplies that are more expensive. However, this is not necessarily a rule. There are lots of brands that sell their bras at very expensive prices, just because they are trend at the moment, but not for the sake of product quality. It is better to stay away from those and choose brands that are known for offering an excellent product whether they are trend or not. Usually these are the same brands that offer a wide range of type, styles and sizes considering all varieties.

Reaching a new era

Many people are fighting to break the beauty stereotypes our society imposes. The time has come for us to embrace the genuine aspect of humans. Little by little, our society is more and more open minded, and it´s starting to raise the voice against the beauty parameters.
Even some big stars in the industry of fashion, music o film are challenging body and beauty standards, like: Winnie Harlow, Alicia Keys, Billy Porter, Billie Eilish, to name a few, and like them, there are brands in the textile industry that want to be part of this process too, especially the underwear industry.  Bra brands are not the exception; some do care about this matter and promotes to accept the unique beauty of your body as it is. Therefore, they produce bras for every type of body, not just the average. These are the best bra!
