Singer-songwriter Rachel Ohnsman has released her next single, “Sparkle,” before her upcoming album, Moon Songs, drops this Fall. “Sparkle” is a song about reigniting the spark inside after going through a dark time and coming out stronger on the other side. Moon Songs is about Rachel Ohnsman’s journey of survival and recovery after sexual assault. “Sparkle” continues that narrative following her previous single “Aphrodisiac.”
“Sparkle marks the final stage of my journey in recovery from sexual assault. It’s my way of saying that nothing and no one can hold me back. This single is all about strength and joy. No matter what we’ve gone through, we all have the power to define our own story.” – Rachel Ohnsman
Following the momentum of her last single, “Sparkle” further propels Rachel’s message of self-empowerment and individualism. Co-produced by Alexis Kesselman (Idarose) with Rachel, the song features her ethereal vocals over choir-like harmonies that encourage the listener to pick themselves off the floor and keep going. Rachel’s aim with this track is to inspire others through her own story to feel as though they can conquer their struggles and always overcome any obstacle.
