Bavarian three-piece powerband Filistine are reminiscing about ‘Summer’

“Summer” is the latest offering from Bavarian three-piece powerband Filistine, one that reaffirms their position as one to watch.

Filistine emerged onto the music scene in 2017 with their debut release “Filosophy” – delivering their unique fusion of blues and rock; incorporating facets of jazz, funk and indie genres to create a truly diverse and idiosyncratic sound. With allusions to an older era, their eclectic sound effortlessly brings together the past and the present, as a rich and vibrant old school foundation is laced with modern melodies and refrains.

With a gentle jazz-based instrumentation, supported by subtle indie-rock guitar riffs, “Summer” is the latest example of their dynamic artistry. The song’s topic is the relatable situation of “boy meets girl and falls in love with her. Unfortunately, so do all the other men in town”, explain the band.

In addition to the song, Filistine also released a music video to accompany the track, drawing on the title theme of summer. From gleaming green pastures, to city scenes, and drives along country roads; we see the band performing and enjoying the track as they bask in the warm glow of the season.
