Grouplove have announced the release of their new single, “Broken Angel,” available at all DSPs and streaming services HERE. “Broken Angel” and “Trip on Me,” also available on DSPs today, were originally released last month as a 12” picture disc for Record Store Day 2020. The proceeds from “Broken Angel” will benefit The Pittsburgh Foundation’s Mac Miller Fund. Created to carry on Miller’s artistic and creative legacy, The Mac Miller Fund supports programming, resources and opportunities to youth from underserved communities, helping them recognize their full potential through exploration in the arts and community building. The track was written by Grouplove and produced by Jonathan Rado of Foxygen.
“Two years ago a dear friend of mine passed away,” says Grouplove frontwoman Hannah Hooper. “I sat down at the piano to put words to the inconsolable loss I was feeling and ‘Broken Angel’ came out. I feel like my friend wrote this song through me. And although I have a hard time listening to it, it helps me realize he’s still with me.”
