SINGLE REVIEW: Game On by Crystal McGrath

Crystal McGrath is a country pop singer-songwriter from Calgary, Alberta. In September 2019, she released her EP Room to Breathe, which attracted a huge amount of interest and garnered great reviews. Now she’s back with and her latest release Game On. The new track is contemporary country-pop at its finest, with a high-energy feel and a lyric that explores themes of positivity and self-empowerment with sophistication and finesse. Crystal has performed all around the globe including shows in Canada, USA, Mexico, UK, and up and down the east coast of Australia. She has shared the stage with several Canadian country heavyweights including George Canyon and Aaron Pritchett. Produced by Juno-winning Spencer Cheyne (Brett Kissell, Jocelyn Alice) Game On is a brilliant blend of pop and country music styles, skilfully balancing country tropes and pop sassiness with compelling style. Crystal is an advocate for women’s empowerment and believes in the importance of using your voice and going after your goals in life. As Crystal has said about her new release: ‘Game On is a song to empower women to go after what they want, whether it’s to dance at a club or going after the CEO position of a company’.  As the founder of “Live with Love” an online movement and mindset platform providing tools for women to live their best lives, Crystal’s new track is the perfect distillation of her artistic vision with real-world issues, and the result: a hypnotically evocative and irresistible contemporary country-pop smash. Crystal has also partnered with Indigo to bring her movement, mindset and music coaching as a part of their digital experience offerings. She also hosts the podcast Crushing Chaos, sharing inspiring stories from women around the world on how they push through resistance in their personal and professional lives. Game On is sure to expand her ever-growing number of followers and solidify her standing as an exemplary contemporary country-pop music artist.
