American born, UK-bred, Odysi is hitting the Urban scene hard with his introspective alt-R&B debut “Loved x Lost” (Loved and Lost).
With 8 years of experience as a singer/songwriter, producer, and engineer for a selection of global top tier music artists, including Giggs and Stefflon Don, Odysi (Neiman Brown) is primed to take a leap in his own direction with his original sounds.
“Loved x Lost” uses broody vocal melodies and a trap-inspired rhythm fused eclectically with woozy indie, rock and pop-influenced electronics to create a dark yet airy downtempo vibe. The track is filled with a kaleidoscopic of emotional reflections using sophisticated writing techniques to portray strength through vulnerability, which gets translated very well into the new visual released today. “The song is the result of a toxic relationship with my child’s mother.” Odysi explains, “There was a long period of time when I couldn’t see my child and I didn’t know when I would see her again. It sounds like I am talking about the mother but if you listen closely to the lyrics you can see I am talking about the relationship with my child.”
Odysi the product of challenging childhood himself while being raised by a single parent he came to the UK for a better life. Starting out as an MC in both Hip-Hop and 2 Step Garage he went on to achieve a Bachelor in English. In 2012 he started a commercial music studio, Novacane, in London, finding his way deeper into the industry. His tenacity combined with the strength of the track is proof that Odysi is a name to remember.
