In the past, we could compare a songs popularity by looking at how many albums it sold or by looking at how much it was played on the radio. Today the easiest way is by looking at YouTube views. YouTube is the most commonly used platform for watching videos and even listening to music. We will use YouTube views to compare the top 5 more popular songs in the world today.
The internet today works in such a way that we are never sure what will trend well and what will not. This makes it possible for the most unexpected songs to become overnight sensations. Back at the beginning of 2015, there were only 2 YouTube videos that broke the 1 billion view mark. Since then there have been more and more videos making this milestone, most of which are songs due to the popularity.
If you have any issues with getting access to YouTube then you might need to use Gadgets. Gadgets allow you to make use of a VPN service which will mask your IP address and reroute your connection through a secure network. This gives you the ability to change your IP location and thus getting access to websites.
1. Luis Fonsi – Despacito ft. Daddy Yankee (7 billion views)
The most viewed music video of all time with 7 billion views. Second place goes to Ed Sheeran with 2 billion views less than Despacito. That just gives you an idea of how popular the number one song is.
