Tinx takes on the Jennifer Paige classic ‘Crush’

Swedish but London-based singer and songwriter Tinx has now returned to share her latest offering ‘Crush’.

A revised rendition of the 1998 Jennifer Paige classic, ‘Crush’ sees the artist explore a more eclectic side to her sound. Produced by Tinx’s long term collaborator Tylr Rydr (Ashnikko, Girli, You Me At Six, Kid Brunswick), their version of completely erases any trace of the sweetness from the original production and highlights her delectable tone over a dark and beat-driven release, which draws influence from trap & drum and bass, though always maintaining her pop foundation.

Speaking about the new offering, she said, “I’ve loved the original version since I was a kid & when my manager jokingly suggested I re-work it, I gladly accepted the challenge. I got to reconnect with Tylr, who I worked on my 1st EP with and making this was just easy & fun… until I actually started to ball my eyes out in the studio, it’s not one to sing when going through a break up. That’s for sure.”

Tinx is an alt-pop artist who has received support from tastemakers including Clash, BBC6 Music, FAULT and Earmilk. Having always wanted to pursue music since she was a child spending time with her musical grandparents, Tinx made the move to London from her native Sweden to realise this dream.

Through collaborating with friends and moving to the big smoke, Tinx was able to refine her dynamic and relatable sound. Her infectious pop music is inspired by her love of feminist poetry (her favourite being Rupi Kaur), and fearless pop stars such as Robyn, Tove Lo & Demi Lovato.
