INTERVIEW: Peter Cestaro

Hi Peter welcome to Vents, how have you been?

Hi thank you for having me, I have been extremely busy. I would not have it any other way.  I am back in High School full-time.  I am Vice President of Notre Dame High school senior class. School is very important to me, I am a high honor student.  Outside of school, music is my passion.  I am always writing new music.  In the past month I recorded three new songs and have two videos being released.

Can we talk about your latest single heartbreak?

I wrote the song “Heartbreak” while I was in the studio booth with DocondaBeat, my producer.  He made the beat on the spot.  The humming ad libs in the beginning, came kind of natural.  We Co-wrote the song.  Same day I recorded my song Abigail.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

I think every teenager has their fair share of heartbreak stories at one time or another.  With me, every word I sang was my true feelings.

Any plans to release any sort of video for that track.

I already released a music video to Heartbreak on October 1,  I had a really nice house,  a few exotic cars, and a beautiful girl who is a local up and coming TikTok star.  @alanna.3

How was the recording and writing process?

I walked into the studio with four songs that I was planning to work on that day.  My producer had “Heartbreak” in mind so we knocked that one out first.  It took almost 4 hours straight to come up with the rough draft.

How has the likes of French Montana and JI influenced your writing?

Growing up with French I was always able to go on stage with him anytime he had a local show, so he was always a big role model in the music industry for me! He always told me it takes about 10 years to be an overnight success. I knew I belonged on that stage. I was five years old when French shot parts of his video “Cocaine Konvict” in my driveway, my older brother Pat was the kid with the cigar in his mouth. They had lots of props. My brother and father were in a few of his music videos recently.

Jay I The prince of New York, his story was very inspirational.  Right before he blew up with his Song “Need Me” put him on the map, he was ready to quit rapping!  Need Me video has 65 million views on YouTube. Goes to show sometimes you may get down, when things aren’t going as planned.   DO NOT ever give up.  “He shot some of his music video for “Need Me” right in my driveway, and at my family’s house, I was able to drive the Convertible Bentley in the video.

What role does New York City play in your music?

Most of my active fans came from my “Next Big Thing NYC” and NYFW family.  As a young boy I would perform at all the New York fashion week shows for Bound by the Crown, and House Of Barretti,  I would perform on the runway, model with them and perform at all the after parties.  I got so much love and attention from all my friends in New York City,  that I introduced my friend Tonee Marino to my fashion week family.

They called me to hire French Montana and I knew French would not be able to come to our show,  so I suggested Tonee Marino, Who I became friends with at a really big show we did together at Mets Stadium, City Field.  I knew he would be a great addition. Look at us now we are in a Hit Reality show together called Next Big Thing NYC.  The show will be featured on Amazon prime on October 25 and run every Sunday for season one.   Definitely mark your calendar for tons of excitement and drama.

Does the new single mean we can expect new material.

Over quarantine is when I really started writing my own music.  I definitely like the vibe of my new material so much better.  I can showcase myself as an artist.   My song “For the Night” was the first song I did the beat and wrote all the lyrics.  I’m excited to be releasing that this coming week.  I filmed a music video and had a really big boat party.  It was a real party and everyone had a great time.

Any tentative release date or title in mind.

I already covered Heartbreak and, For the Night,  I already recorded my song Abigail, now I am working on a storyboard for my music video.  Hoping to shoot that video in the next few weeks.  In the past my projects dragged out.  It seemed like coming soon was really never coming soon.  I am now on top of everything and being very adamant that I keep putting out new content.

What else is happening next in Peter Cestaros world?

My family is working on an exciting project that I really can’t talk about yet. I will be able to announce it in the beginning of the new year. I am applying to colleges.  And really focusing on getting all my projects out there and researching different marketing ideas. I am my own brand. It’s hard right now not being able to perform in public like I always did prior to Covid.  So I am making the best of it and just constantly writing new music
I enjoyed talking with you all.
