RAZI drops debut album ‘BLUE CORNER’

Songwriter, singer and instrumentalist Razi drops his atmospheric debut LP on mental illness charity Key Changes in house label.

The seven track atmospheric indie-rock record parallels his path to recovery from an adolescence spent overcoming mental illness, taking the listener on a multi genre journey through instrumental, grunge, and up front rock.

‘Blue Corner’ is a true reflection of London native Razi’s love for music. The rawness in his vocal playing testament to the distance he has covered and the path he continues to walk towards long term recovery.

Opening instrumental ‘Enuba’ perfectly sets the tone and pace for the album, hopeful in its melody, the track is both a fitting opener and a demonstration of Razi’s musicality. What follows are six further tracks of complex beat structures and thought provoking lyrics delivered through Razi’s uniquely wistful vocal style. The lead track ‘Pretend’ adds further depth to the release, delving deep into Razi’s atmospheric indie-rock style whilst elsewhere on the LP Bob Zong takes remix duties on title track ‘Blue Corner’, closing the album with a bass heavy, beat driven mix.

Razi produced ‘Blue Corner’ during a 12 week production course at East London based mental illness recovery charity – Key Changes – and is released through their in house label of the same name. Key Changes gives artists recovering from mental illness the tools they need to produce records, both rebuilding their confidence as musicians and aiding their recovery.
