Steadily on the rise over the past years, NY-based singer and songwriter Katile has just released her latest single, “Say Sorry.” Though it marks her third official release to date, Katile is not new in the music industry, working alongside Grammy Award winning super-producer and singer Mark Hudson and performing all over New York as early as 2015. Having received praise from the likes of Hollywood Life, The New York Post, Bravo, Time Out NY and more, she is now ready to continue progressing in her career.
“Say Sorry” is an emotional and relatable pop gem, filled with electronic and dance sonic aesthetics. Telling the story of someone who feels the need to always apologize for who they are, it’s driven by bright instrumentation and heavenly vocal lines by Katile.
“I wrote “Say Sorry” because I’m someone that is ALWAYS apologizing, my anxiety makes me feel the need to apologize for everything,” explains Katile. “From apologizing about my career path and sexuality to family to friends, when I should just say “thank you” – from the barista at Starbucks, to my cab driver, to everyone. I feel like a lot of people do this too, saying sorry all the time and I think we should all be proud of who we are, the choices we make, and own the space we take up. Nobody should be apologizing for just being themselves.”
