“Excited to bring TDK into the FNF family,” 1st and 15th CEO Lupe Fiasco said of the signing. “Catch them next year opening on my rescheduled tour dates. Full EP in the works but this debut track goes hard. Keep an eye on these guys.”

“To us our debut single ‘Check’ is our light hearted jab at today’s mainstream culture and music,” says TDK “Not really a diss track per say but just a song that shows you that you don’t always have to take life so serious. The heavy bass line and catchy melody catches the listener and almost distracts you from the substance of the song much like most of today’s mainstream music.”

TDK is the duo of Jake and Drew, two childhood friends who started making music together in high school. The two briefly attended college before dropping out, then moved in together with the goal of having more time to record and write music as TDK.  After a few recording sessions at  FNF Studios in Chicago, TDK caught the ear of 1st and 15th’s Kadesia Patton, and were subsequently signed to the label. “For us, signing to 1st and 15th is like a childhood dream has come true,” says TDK “We’ve been listening to Lupe Fiasco since we were kids, and he has been a huge influence on us not only musically, but on our lives in general. This opportunity to work under 1st and 15th has shown us that as long as you work hard, nothing can stop you from achieving your goals.”

T.DK. will open for Lupe Fiasco on his upcoming 2021 Food & Liquor Tour (postponed from 2020). Rescheduled dates are to be announced. The duo is also in the final stages of recording an EP out early 2021. Details TBA.
