How to Transform Your Backyard into an Outdoor Wellness

Opening your exterior doors and walking right into your own outdoor wellness… Sounds like a dream come true, right? Luckily there are ways to transform your backyard into an outdoor wellness. And your garden doesn’t have to be large. Even a small garden can be a great place to sunbathe, relax or do some meditation. Would you like to have your own outdoor wellness right outside your home, where you can chill and de-stress after a long day? Then be sure to read on!

Keep it natural

You may go to the spa once in a while. Then you might have seen that they predominantly use natural materials and clean designs in order to create some peace and harmony. After all, it’s difficult to relax in a room where there is much distraction. If you want to create a serene environment in your garden, we advise you to use natural materials such as wood, natural stones, bamboo and concrete.

Simple and clear interplay of lines

As discussed above, relaxing is easier in a calming and soothing environment; a spot without fuss and bother and hoo-ha. If you want to create a peaceful vibe in your garden, we recommend you to use a simple line play. Go for a plain look and feel, with straight lines and clean forms. Try to avoid different patterns and materials.

You may like to enjoy your outdoor wellness (half) naked; go for it! If you live in a rural area, you probably don’t have many neighbors. But if you live in an urban area, you may want a hedge or fence to keep prying eyes away. If you’re looking for a suitable fence for your outdoor wellness, we advise you to use natural materials. Think, for example, of bamboo and wood or combine trees and large bushy plants.

Soothing sound of nature

Ok, you can’t force the birds to sing a song while you’re enjoying your outdoor wellness. But you can facilitate some soothing sounds of nature that will help you relax more. A small fountain, for example, may serve as a calming effect to the noisy street. You can also hang a wind chime; a wind instrument that only the wind can play.

The real deal

What is an outdoor wellness without some real wellness facilities? After all, many of us go to the Spa to enjoy the swimming pool and/or sauna. For the ultimate wellness experience, you may like to install a hot tub (Dutch: hottub) or sauna in your yard. Are these facilities beyond your budget? Then you can also buy yourself an inflatable swimming pool (Dutch: opblaasbare swimming pool). You will have the same experience and it’s also good for your own pockets.

What does your ideal spa look like?
