Having already made a name for himself as a renowned actor after appearing in recurring roles for hit TV shows such as Pretty Little Liars, The Rookie and Glee, vocalist and songwriter Titus Makin aka Butterfly Ali has also been making a huge impression on the music scene of late with his previously shared singles ‘Rose’ and ‘Righteous’, not to mention that the single after next will be produced by Sam Barsh (Kendrick Lamar, Logic, Anderson .Paak, Aloe Blacc). Today, September 23rd sees him bring more of that fun and funk-filled direction on his latest release ‘5 Minutes’, produced by Velly.

While his older material saw him channel the more soulful and sombre side to the soul sound, ‘5 Minutes’ sees him crack out the brass for this bright and energetic return. With strong nods to the sounds of Rick James and Funkadelic, this new jam sees him deliver one of his most flamboyant offerings to date, bringing a head-nodding and hip-shaking groove along with it.

Speaking about the new track, he said, “5 Minutes feels to me like the song we all need to just jam out to after a hard day of work and struggles. It’s that let your hair down and get funky kind of song. It identifies with all the times we as humans have to keep a tight rein on our tongue and have a little patience with all this crazy world presents. I got five minutes then I’m moving on… not gonna let you stress me out.”

After graduating from the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, Titus relocated to Los Angeles to pursue his acting and musical career on a professional level.
