Today, Irish indie rockers The Academic share the lyric video for their song “Them”: WATCH HERE. It is lifted from the band’s acclaimed EP, Acting My Age, released via Capitol Records at the turn of the Summer.

The Academic have been dropping their sharp, intensely listenable, moreish indie rock songs and finding themselves gaining more and more fans with each new release. It’s exactly what an artist wants and expects to happen, but The Academic are doing at a dizzying speed that finds them playing some of the UK’s more substantial venues before they’ve had much opportunity to introduce themselves.

Where the songs released to date have been suitably frenetic, “Them” shows a more reflective, soothing sound. Some light and shade to compliment the scorching riffs and heady melodies that have quickly become their trademark. It’s a mature finale to an introductory collection that should see The Academic soar into 2021 and all the buzz of excitement that brings.

“I wrote it about my younger sister, who’s going through a lot of the house-parties-with-friends thing which I’m kind of out of now.” vocalist Craig Fitzgerald explains.
