1. Exercise

You’re thinking small if you believe creativity is only about making something new. The endorphins that are released during exercise are brain-boosting stimulants.

Exercise opens you up to new possibilities by making your brain more receptive to new information. Find 30 minutes each day to go for a walk or walk up and down the stairs in your home.

High-intensity workouts don’t necessarily boost creativity more than a subtle exercise like jogging. You want to avoid risking injuries that will steal your creativity by putting you in a negative mood.

Start slow with your workouts so you can maximize without jeopardizing your overall plan. You’ll feel your blood pumping and the ideas starting to flow once you get home from a good cardio workout. 

2. Meditate

Another way to clear your mind for brilliant ideas is to meditate. You can honestly take as little as five minutes each day and notice tremendous results.

No, meditation isn’t magic. It’s effective because it takes away mental clutter that’s keeping you from your goals.

Breathing deeply slows down your rampant thoughts and helps distribute oxygen to parts of your brain previously neglected. This is a mandatory solution for anyone who’s guilty of holding his or her breath throughout the day.

There’s no way for your imagination to flow freely when you’re blocking oxygen from reaching your brain due to anxiety. Take the time to breathe and allow fresh air to wipe away unwanted thoughts that block creativity. 

3. Ease Up

You don’t need to be the next Mark Zuckerberg or Warren Buffett in a day. Ease up on your expectations of yourself.

It’s hard to be creative when you’ve got heavy demands on who you’re supposed to be. The truth is that you have no idea what the future holds because you don’t own that kind of power.

People who tell you their life is exactly as planned are lying. Life laughs at our plans.

So planning creativity will provide mixed results. Some days you’ll come up with epic ideas while other days you start thinking about your dog that ran away when you were five and descend into a somber mood.

Think big so you produce big results. You can force a chance meeting but you can leave the door open for the unexpected and ride the wave when it does.

The human brain loves to feast on new information. It gets your gears going as you realize how different parts connect.

Think of learning something new as your brain’s crossfit. You’ll get fast results on boosting creativity while gaining a fresh perspective.

Boost creativity to build your confidence. When you notice you’ve accomplished even a small task, you’ll feel better about your abilities overall.

So, go ahead and take that sushi rolling class. Even small wins amount to feeling and creating like a rockstar. 

6. Add Ambient Noise

Your brainstorm session to boost creativity isn’t the time to listen to your favorite love songs. The lyrics are like little seeds of inception that redirect your attention to your last breakup instead of how amazing your new project could be.
