Richard Orofino (Roken) releases dreamy indie single “Fall Apart”

Today sees Brooklyn-based singer Richard Orofino release “Fall Apart” – a dreamy slice of indie-pop that once again showcases why he is one to watch.

There’s an atmospheric, almost eerie feel to “Fall Apart”. Like past work, here Richard utilises a variety of vocal manipulation techniques to create a layered, multi-faceted and, at times, raw & distorted sound – mixing these tougher moments with the track’s clean production and a catchy, pop-inspired hook.

“I wanted it to feel dark but dream-like, with delicate moments followed by extremely harsh points”, explains Richard, a notion which makes even more sense given one of his key inspirations is David Lynch, known for his blend of darkness and beauty. “I was dealing with a lot of strange feelings during the heat of quarantine, and kept brushing off these important issues within myself and trying not to handle them head on, it felt as if a shadow were festering inside of me”.

Richard Orofino began writing and producing music in 2013, starting on piano, moving to drums and later guitar, all while honing his production skills crafting hundreds of bedroom pop gems from the attic of his parent’s house in Northport, NY. He quickly established an avid following, with past singles such as “i heard you were looking like the moon” and “Redeye” both reaching over a million plays and receiving widespread playlist support. The singer is also known for his prolific output, with multiple acclaimed projects already under his belt.

“Fall Apart” is the follow-up single to “Rather Die” and offers another exciting glimpse of his forthcoming EP. More information on this coming soon.
