Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
“We been good! Thank you for having us!”
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “London Girls”?
“Yes of course! We and our whole team has been so excited to release this joint since last year in ADE. Happy it’s out and people are vibing it!”
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
“Prior to ADE we were on tour and had a show in London. While meeting people at the venue the night of the show we had noticed most of the girls weren’t very nice. Like our friend was introducing us to his friends that were girls and they wouldn’t shake our hands. So like it wasn’t us pursuing them and they were mean. It was a mutual acquaintance introducing lol. Looking back i was wearing a whack shirt so i get it. But just something that stuck with me and thought it was funny they were being rude cuz we were being so nice. Anywho sparked this song idea so thank u my loves.”
Did you stumble upon this recorded line or you always meant to use this and turn it into a song?
“Recorded the first line of the song “London Girls don’t like me” that night at the show into a voice note on my phone.”
How was the process and thought behind the video?
“We originally were going to fly to England and try to recreate a vibe for the music video. Due to the pandemic tho we took an alternative route and wanted to create an animation music video. One of our favorite music videos to date. The creativity and detail to this video is insane! We always wanted to be cartoons lol.”
How was the recording and writing process?
“Man so effortless and fun! Brando is crazy talented. He has been an artist we have been big fans of and always wanted to work with. When we landed in Amsterdam we went straight to the studio to meet up with Brando in the Armada Studios. The first hour we were just telling jokes and dickin around saying how blessed everything was haha. So the energy was good. Felt comfortable to sing that idea that we recorded in London. Everyone liked it and Cody starting playing that guitar riff and the song wrote itself within a few hours. Brando kept singing that “ya ya ya” hook and so did everyone that heard it, including everyone in the whole Armada building haha.”
How did you guys come together? What made you want to team up for this song in particular?
“We recently signed a new deal with Armada and our lovely team over there setup this session. Was a perfect fit honestly.”
Do you take a different approach when you are collaborating with someone else rather than working on your own?
“Ya haha. Selfishly wanted this song for ourselves and wanted to sing it cuz we knew it was dope. But just felt right for Brando to sing it and finish the song with us. Meant to be…u know.”
What role does London play in your music?
“One of our favorite cities and we have so many best mates and memories over there! Can’t wait to be back.”
What else is happening next in your world?
“Working on more music! Have a new one coming out with Lokii on 9/18. Other than music we are trying to figure out how to tour again and see all of our friends and fans around the world and create more memories and love on each other. Trying to navigate through these times and take unfortunate circumstances and turn them into new positive outcomes. We workin on some dope things! Stay ready baby. “
