Ferentz and The Felons is the musical vision of singer-songwriter Zak Ferentz. Raised in Hudson County, NJ, Ferentz took artistic influence from the urban community in which he grew up in. From growing up in public housing, to being raised by parents that battled heavy drug addiction, Ferentz spent most of his adolescence and early adulthood battling physical, mental and spiritual adversities that he was able to overcome when he discovered music. Channeling not only his own but others’ struggles, Ferentz aims to amplify the voice of the voiceless and to build a community rooted in positivity.
“Tombstone is an anthem for anyone that spent time on the streets. This life can really take a hold of you and drive you under. This song means more than anything I’ve written because I’m bringing up a time in my life where I was closest to defeat. I was running the streets harder than ever causing harm to not only myself, but everyone around me. This is from the heart, pure and honest”
Such a personal song as to be expected requires a very intimate music video, and Ferentz delivers as we watch him pour his heart out.
