Rising Australian musician and songwriter, Blake Rose returns today with a stunning live video for his single, “Ordinary People,” which is out now via AWAL Recordings. Directed by Matt Sav and shot on-location at dusk in the town of Kalamunda, just outside of Perth in Western Australia.
Talking about the video with V Man, Blake reveals, “I originally wanted to perform this at the actual lookout you see in the single artwork, but being that it is in LA and I’m currently in Perth, that wasn’t possible. The video’s director, Matt Sav and I tried to find a location that evoked a similar feeling and vibe as the original lookout where I took this girl on our first date. I’m happy with how it turned out.”

About the inspiration behind the song, Blake explains, “I don’t fall for people very easily, but when I do it’s hard and very spontaneous. I was hanging out with this girl for no longer than a week, but I fell head over heels and this song is a result of that. It’s a word for word recount of exactly what happened during that brief but unforgettable period of time.”
The live video for “Ordinary People” follows yet another incredible visual for his single “Lost” which to date has been streamed more than 35 million streams. Filmed with a live band in his native Perth, Australia, the video provides music fans a much needed live experience fix during these uncertain times. Watch the new video for “Lost” HERE.
Speaking about the new video, Blake reveals, “I’ve wanted to create this video and arrangement since ‘Lost’ was released. The musicians in the video (Christian Zappia, Josh Write, Marley Donnan-Cook and Trevor Stockton) are friends of mine who I met at university in Perth. We always talked about doing something together but I ended up spending so much time in LA that we never found the opportunity. Since returning to Perth in March, the five of us were finally able to get together and play some music!”
