The reactions to PELA’s recent releases has seen the duo gain an array of fans across the UK, EU and US. Despite this year offering a number of challenges, the alt-pop pair continue to provide glimpses of
serenity with their rich, canorous tracks. This time, their dreamscape takes the form of the reposeful new single “In the Young”.
Splitting their time between South London and Brighton, the pair embrace new beginnings with the self-reflective single. Laced with intricate piano sequences and punctuated with static electronic glitches, “In the Young” demonstrates the band’s ever-growing maturity and wisdom. Sporadically underscored with a whirring bass line, the single once again solidifies PELA’s reputation of producing unique, mellifluous tunes.
Of the track, the pair say “In the Young’ represents a collective yearning for a shift. It is about connected experiences, and about human love. It’s about the simplicity of small moments and the gravity of big ones.”
