Michael Kiwanuka‘s third studio album KIWANUKA (Interscope), produced by Danger Mouse and Inflo, has been released exclusively on Amazon Music HD in Dolby Atmos Music, which fans can experience on EchoStudioMichael. “I’ve never really experienced music like that before” reveals Kiwanuka after listening to the remastered album for the first time. Dolby Atmos is an audio technology that creates an entirely unique spatial music experience leveraging object-based sound to place the listener in the center of an immersive soundscape. This experience is available to Echo Studio customers subscribed to Amazon Music HD, the highest-quality listening experience available, which offers more than 60 million songs available in High Definition (HD), millions of songs in Ultra HD, and a growing catalog of 3D Audio. “This is the closest I’ve got to trying to achieve that feeling, where you just live literally inside the world that persons created” explains Kiwanuka, watch him experience the technology here. The mix was done by esteemed mixer Lewis Jones at famed Abbey Road studios in London.

Dolby Atmos Music is redefining how music is created and experienced. Listeners can discover hidden details and subtleties with unparalleled clarity. Whether it’s a complex harmony of instruments placed around a listener, a legendary guitar solo that fills a room, a massive bass drop that washes over the audience, or the subtle breath a singer takes between lyrics, Dolby Atmos gives music more space and the freedom to unleash every detail and emotion as the artist intended.

KIWANUKA was shortlisted for 2020’s Mercury Prize, a prestigious award that selects and celebrates the 12 best British albums of the year. KIWANUKA explores themes of self-love, empowerment, and the release of doubt and pain. The British singer-songwriter fuses sounds of Woodstock-era rock, Americana, early soul, woozy psych beats, and found audio samples for mesmeric sound and vibe felt exclusively in KIWANUKA.

This year, one of KIWANUKA’s most timely tracks, “Final Days” was remixed by the revered artist and producer Bonobo – listen HERE. The song takes an introspective ride through the contrasts of pain and self-love/acceptance.
