Federal Prisoner Release Soundtrack to DC Comics’ “High Level”; Rob Sheridan (Nine Inch Nails) Created Comic Scored by Steven Alexander Ryan & Justin McGrath

Federal Prisoner have released the soundtrack to DC Comics “High Level” (https://sarandjm.bandcamp.com/album/high-level-soundtrack-for-the-graphic-novel), a post-apocalyptic sci-fi adventure comic created by Nine Inch Nails’ former art director Rob Sheridan. Steven Alexander Ryan (The Black Queen) and Justin McGrath (Polyfuse) wrote and produced the 41-track score.

“The ‘High Level’ soundtrack was over a year in the making,” said Steven about the newly released collection. “Justin and I are beyond ecstatic for everyone to travel along this auditory journey.”

A limited edition, triple vinyl pre-order is live now via https://sarandjm.bandcamp.com/album/high-level-soundtrack-for-the-graphic-novel.

Ryan and McGrath give breath to the comic’s dystopian visuals and bring rhythm to the tense action. The pair developed an immersive body of work that transports the listener across the varied landscapes and scenes of Sheridan’s story while embracing the soundtrack as an art form, channeling visionaries like John Carpenter, Clint Mansell, and Nobuo Uematsu.

The trio of Alexander, McGrath and Sheridan initially crossed paths on Nine Inch Nails’ 2013 tour where Ryan and McGrath, who served as crew members, met the Nails’ art director Sheridan also directed the music video for The Black Queen’s “Ice To Never” the following year.
