Netflix May Indirectly Encourage Pirate Streams!

Recently Netflix has seen a surge in its market share within the movie streaming business. Shares are through the roof and things could not be going better for the movie streaming giant. However, there is one recurring complaint you may keep on hearing about this movie maestro.

Now, Netflix has clearly gotten most things right. It has an awesome film, series, and children’s catalogue – all boxes ticked. Yet, you might be in the middle of one of these series ‘namely Suits’ for example, or Ballers to think of another one, and suddenly without any warning whatsoever, the series disappears from Netflix. Why would they take these series off their catalogue?

One of the things most people do in forums complaining about this sort of mishap is to take up suggestions offered to watch illegal streams where fans of a series they are being denied on Netflix is freely available.

Considering Netflix frowns upon the use of these pirate streamed websites, it seems odd that the company indirectly encourages it. Who is going to get halfway through a series – which mind you takes time to decide whether you want to go past season 1 and 2 – and then quit?

It is just not going to happen. It is like buying a decent bottle of red wine and spilling half of it and there is no way to buy more because the shops are closed – it is out of your hands and the job is only half done. You cannot help but feel the disappointment of not being able to finish what you started.

Inevitably the next move is to find somewhere that is going to allow you to finish the series. The latest outrage on forums is the multiple series of Suits which was removed after the first week of August. 9 series of Harvey Specter and Mike Ross wiped away without a trace.

As the Netflix subscription is paid for, why look for another movie with Suits and pay more money? Well, this is the route some people take, while to the despair of the movie industry there are also plenty of pirate sites out there accessible via VPN software like Solar Movies and 123Movies that have the entire collection (all 9 series) of Suits – so where does Netflix think these people are going to go?

The real question is why delete movies in the first place? Firstly, Netflix risks people cancelling their subscription in search of pastures new – a place they can 100% be sure that the series they choose to watch will not suddenly be deleted without warning.

Surely this now an opportunity for ‘Netflix Archive’ to kick into action. A server with all the old deleted stuff on it. It’s hard to believe this does not exist because it would be step 1 to wiping the net clean of movie streaming sites or at least reduce their traffic and attract people that think ‘I’m going to watch Oliver Twist’ or ‘Bugsy Malone’ – films produced years ago neatly nestled in a movie streaming sites archive.

Netflix – there is a whole new audience out there waiting for archive movies!
