Gashi today shares his highly anticipated sophomore album, 1984 via Ministry of Sound/RCA Records. The 16-track 1984 album sees GASHI exploring and harboring new sounds that will bring you back to GASHI’s favorite time – the 80’s and features already released tracks, “Paranoid,” “Mr. Ferrari,” “Upset” ft. Pink Sweat$ and Njomza and “Lies.” A special collaboration with the legendary British musician Sting on the track “Mama” will also be featured on the album.
Gashi says of the album, “I wasn’t alive during that decade, but I connect so much with everything from that era. I love everything about 80s culture from the music to the films to the fashion and I always wished I could have experienced that time in history. My parents got married in 1984 and some of the greatest music ever made came from the 80s. I just wanted to make music that made people feel the way I feel when I hear anything from that era.”
In celebration of the release of 1984, last night saw Gashi present a one-of-a-kind livestream in collaboration with YouTube on Gashi’s Official Artist Channel. The 1 hour event featured the first livestream performance from Gashi ever as well as the worldwide premiere of his documentary “Gashi: Now You Know.” Net proceeds raised during the livestream event will be donated by Gashi to Global Citizen.
