Building and sustaining a business is not an easy task in 2020, while the world battles with the human, economic, and social implications of the pandemic. That’s why we need to revisit the tales which have proven to be a true entrepreneurial inspiration. The multi-billionaire Emirati businessman Obaid Belresheed presents such an inspirational story. The founder of Belresheed Group began his ambitious business journey in 1993 to build a multi-industry empire.
OB explains how his entrepreneurial journey has blossomed due to his Emirati heritage and passion for real estate. “Luxury is a part of an Emirati lifestyle. By combining it with my business journey, I found the logical step forward. My real estate endeavor covers peak luxury fulfillments – building luxury villas, luxury apartments, and luxury commercial properties,” he added.
“It’s always been a part of my culture to own any service when I’ve become passionate about something. For example, when I started with real estate, I thought about building my properties and built around 80 high-end properties. When I saw the third-party services they required, I thought about having these services in-house.” Obaid has made sure that all of his real estate holdings, existing properties, and new constructions preserve Emirati heritage.
The Belresheed Group currently covers a prominent UAE real estate business, the Belresheed Real Estate, the Belresheed Building Contracting, Goldenwood, Auto Deals, the Belresheed Technical Contracting, and GTR motors. Later, Obaid extended his business empire to cover third-party services like a travel agency, security services, and Al Bataeh Cleaning services. The Group employs 1700 people across all of its businesses and aims to expand further. In terms of real estate, it would extend to 100 properties, including apartments, villas, and commercial properties.
OB, a member of the Emirati family, believes that his desire for business excellence was fuelled by a need to succeed, highlighting his family’s pride through leadership in multiple industries. “I believe that business is not all about money. It’s all about people and trustworthiness”, said Belresheed.
Meanwhile, his story proves to be an inspiration on a humanitarian front as well. Belresheed has supported many public initiatives for the UAE government. He has also supported schools, a mosque in Sharjah, and has contributed PPE kits to the Dubai Health Authority. Obaid continues to strive further, fueled by his passion for entrepreneurship, and motivation to showcase Emirati heritage in all its grandeur.
