Interview With Sharod Brown, AKA Carolina Spill

Hey Carolina Spill! Where are you from?

I’m from Beaufort, South Carolina

When did you first get into music?

I started music back in ’99, but I stopped in ’03. I started pushing as an artist again in 2017

What’s the biggest challenge that you’ve overcome as an artist?

The most challenging thing I’ve overcome is learning to never tell yourself you can’t do something until you actually put yourself there to say I’ve tried it and it won’t work for me.

Are you signed or independent?

I’m Independent

Who are what has been your biggest musical inspiration?

I grew up off lyrical artists such as Jay Z, Beanie Sigel, Jadakiss, Styles P, DMX, Slick Rick, etc. I want people to know and feel that old Slick Rick type of feel. The art of storytelling: that’s me. I paint pictures with my music; you actually see the video in your head.

Are you going to be releasing new music anytime soon?

I have new music on the way. I’m actually trying to work with more artist to get out there more, so I’m trying to work with folks from all over.

What’s been your greatest accomplishment in music so far?

My greatest accomplishment with music so far is the feedback from my fans and the new followers.

Do you produce your own music or work with producers?

I produce my own music.

If you could work with anyone in the industry, who would it be?

If I could work with anyone, I would have to say DaBaby, being that he’s from North Carolina with a great buzz right now. I know out of anybody he would, I’m sure, push the record more than others, being we are from Carolina North and South.
