Growing up, it was necessary to have role models or just people who inspired you. Depending on your interests in life, your role model could be anyone. As a young adult growing and building my career, I look up to people for inspiration. When I think of business focus, resilience, and authenticity, Oprah Winfrey comes to mind. I have idolized this woman since I can remember. I have listened to her interviews, podcasts, and read her books too. She is ideally the epitome of what a successful black woman embodies in this day and age.

We are different at the end of the day. Our goals, intentions, objectives, or journey cannot be the same. To be successful, you need to own your journey. Good or bad, that is what you had to encounter to be here today. Understand what you want to achieve and own the process. Reaching your destiny requires that you own the journey you are on.

  • Stay resilient

From Oprah’s view, you should never let anything hold you back. As mentioned, growth and progress is a personal journey. Breakaway from anything that deters you from your objectives.
