Alewya shares the latest remix of her debut single “Sweating” by legendary London-based drum and bass producer Breakage, available today via Because London Records. Dubbed “this decade’s triple threat” by LOVE Magazine, Alewya is a UK-based producer, singer-songwriter and artist and released her debut single “Sweating” shortly after her recent feature on Little Simz’s track “where’s my lighter.” The new remix of the track follows Honey Dijon’s remix, released earlier this month. Hear “Sweating (Breakage Remix)” here:

The melodies on “Sweating” are buoyed by future-facing productions, drawing influence from her African roots and UK club culture. Alewya notes, “It’s about feeling chemistry with someone but also about a female who is not afraid of her prowess and power. It’s a mood.” The hypnotic video for the song, directed by Jack Bowden, stars Alewya alongside a troupe of club dancers hypnotized by the song’s infectious beat, their bodies pulsating and sweating to the rhythm. Alewya is seen on screen in the video spraying a large canvas hinting at her wide-spanning talents which include illustration, sculpture and visual art. Watch the video for “Sweating” here:
