New York-based Pop artist, Nick Deutsch, has returned with his new single, “Hooking Up”. As with his last track, “Monsters”, Nick continues to open up to his audience, taking his truth and bringing it to life with heartfelt pop music. Luckily for his fans and new listeners, this release is one of many planned singles this year, all culminating with Nick’s new EP, Modern Love, coming out later this Fall.
“‘Hooking Up’ is about contemporary dating and untangling lust from intimacy. I want listeners to feel connected to the singer’s feelings, and to know they are not alone in trying to figure out what exactly is turning on when the clothes come off.” -Nick Deutsch
Nick Deutsch has a lot to say about modern-day romances, sentiments which are echoed by the song’s chorus, “…Hooking up, it isn’t love.” Tyler Milliron, director of the music video for this track, captures Nick’s gentle melodies with bold visuals highlighted by the contemporary dance choreography of Audra Bryant. The song was produced by Joey Auch, who’s been working with pop artists for years to realize their sound; notably, with musicians like Rachel Platten, Erin Bowman, and Decorah.
