INTERVIEW: glvsshouse

Hi glvsshouse, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

I have been good. Keeping myself busy. Working on tons of music and content ideas.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Broken & Lost”?

It is a super raw track with a heavy sound that weighs on the listener. I designed it this way because I am talking about some heavy shit in there, and I wanted listeners to feel the anxiety, confusion, anger, and sadness in the music. It is a punk rock song.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

Nothing particular. Moreso a lifetime of battles with anxiety and other mental hurdles for me.

Any plans to release any sort of video for the track?

Yes. Working on the video right now.

How was the recording and writing process?

I make all my music in my home studio, I write and make sure I have some sort of ear on the production side of each record. I also work with a tight knit group of producers that are always going above and beyond to help me expand my sound.

What role does LA play in your music?

A big role. Taking the leap of faith to move out there, spending years grinding with other artists around me, and being influenced by the fast life- all influence my art.

Did your musical perspective change as you move away from Boston to the West Coast?

Sort of. My punk rock and r&b roots run deep in me. Moving to LA was an experiment, and the music I was creating at the time was very much so an experiment.

As a former punk man, how does this background and influences your new work?

A lot. You can hear it in every song I put out. Whether it’s the slight screamo background vocals, rock n roll drums on the beat, or the melodies I am singing- it is all rooted in my days fronting my punk rock band.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

I am dropping a bunch of singles and videos throughout the rest of this year. We have so many hits on the way that I cant wait to show the world and my fans.

What else is happening next in glvsshouse’s world?

Live stream concerts on the way! Big collaborations also on the way.
