Creating ripples globally with his superlative repertoire and recipient of the gold medal for the ‘Best Piano Technique’ is the young legendary solo pianist Vladimir Tiagunov. Critically acclaimed, he has created a niche for himself and emerged as a magnificent artist in music scaling great heights in the industry.
Adding to his list of accomplishments is his proudest moment of being felicitated with the Gold Medal for the ‘Best Piano Technique’ at the Forte International Music Competition at Carnegie Hall, USA, in 2016. Vladimir added, “Receiving recognition for my piano technique was the highest honor. It was the greatest feeling in the world.” Subsequently, he was recognized as the Top Performer in the 13th LISMA International Music Competition, New York (2017) and most recently presented with ‘Certificate of Excellence for extraordinary dedication to the field of Music Education and outstanding student achievement’ at the Forte International Music Competition at Carnegie Hall, USA (2019).
A child prodigy, Vladimir Tiagunov, was born in 1989 in Temirtau, Russia. Encouraged and trained on the fundamentals by his father, a piano enthusiast, Tiagunov started playing piano at the age of 6 and practiced the craft with great fervor, which led to his acceptance at the Children’s Music School wherein he gave his first solo recital at age 9. Later, he attended the Chelyabinsk State Academy of Culture and Arts, studying under the revered artist of Russia, Professor Evgeny Levitan, and graduating with a Master’s degree with honors. Tiagunov moved to New York, USA, and under the guidance of Professor Tamara Poddubnaya, he graduated with the Artist Diploma from the Long Island Conservatory of Music.
Apart from his prolific career as a performer, Vladimir is also a revered piano professor at the Long Island Conservatory. Tiagunov has contributed to shaping his students’ careers, among whom several are Laureates of Piano Competitions. He is frequently invited as a jury member at International Music Competitions such as Manolov International Music Competition, Music Soloist Competition, and International Piano Competition at Gould Academy.
Tiagunov has released four music albums this year, the latest being: “Classical Piano: The Essential Masterpieces.” It is available on all major music streaming platforms, and features piano works by Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, and Mussorgsky. Vladimir continues to hone his skills and push his creativity to new heights as a pianist, musician, and avid performer.
