SINGLE REVIEW: We’ll Be Alright by SHINE

Shine is a new Austrian band which is fronted by vocalist Gregor Glanz, a renowned vocalist and musician in his own right in Austria. The band has just released a blistering new track called We’ll Be Alright. As Gregor says of the new track, ‘We want to give people hope with our song, something they may have lost during these difficult times. Staying true to the motto: love illuminates even the darkest room!’ And it seems that they’ve delivered just with We’ll Be Alright. Beginning with the song’s massive chorus, the song’s dynamics and well-crafted melody are at the fore, with Gregor’s wide vocal range firmly establishing the song’s potency. The verses have a reduced intensity about them but it’s only intensity of a different kind, its steady sway is engaging and creates the right atmosphere, contrasting well with the chorus. It has a stomping drum feel that pushes the track along, aided by some guitar wizardry and resplendent vocal harmonies. The production is polished and sophisticated yet doesn’t detract from the rawness that the lyric invokes. The message is direct, straight forward and heartfelt: ‘I know we’ll be alright, I never want you to cry, I guess I know forever more, you will be here right by my side’. These are the kind of lyrics that will no doubt speak directly to the listener during these difficult times, when people are struggling and worrying, it’s the sort of sentiment they want to hear; there’s no doom and gloom here, only hope, just as Gregor has stated. We’ll Be Alright is a an engaging rock-pop tune, full of surprises as well as containing all the elements one would come to expect of a great song in the classic rock tradition, it’s sure to attract a lot of attention on commercial radio and streaming playlists everywhere.
