Debunking Some Common Misconceptions about Traveling

Have you ever wondered what is keeping us from traveling or why do those long-planned travel trips with friends don’t work out? There are so many myths and speculations about traveling that keep us from making our dreams of exploring the globe come true. We have heard so many misconceptions regarding traveling and have assumed them to be true because these are what we grew up hearing, so letting them go all once can be difficult. Here are some misconceptions about traveling that might be keeping you from making a travel plan:

Travelling is Expensive:

Whenever we think of traveling, we tend to assume that it will cost us a fortune. The fear of being broke over shadows our wanderlust. However, the truth is that traveling can cost you less than the amount that you spend while living in any major city. While staying at home you have to pay the utility bills, take care of the house, do the grocery, and the list goes on. However, when you travel, you just have to take care of yourself and pay for the residence and look for cheap air travel. Obliviously it will cost you some bucks, but it will feel like a breath of fresh air which makes it totally worth the cost. It’s all about priorities actually, if you really want to travel, you can always make room for it in your budget.

Travelling is Unsafe:

It would be safe to call this one a ‘mere excuse’. Unfortunate events are part of our lives and they are just a matter of bad luck. You can get mugged in your city as well. The good and the bad are both coexisting in every part of the world and that must not keep you from exploring the globe. You can avoid going to the cities that are not to be safe for traveling. Traveling is quite safe these days as gradually the world is becoming accustomed to tourism because the industry has grown rapidly in the last few decades and has become fairly profitable for the respective countries. 

Don’t Try Street Food:

Street food makes you! You will get to hear this a lot. It is usually believed that street food is not good, or the hygienic conditions are not reliable, however, this is altogether a wrong concept. You can literary see the vendor prepare the entire food right in front of you. As far as the question of getting sick is concerned, that you can get by eating meals from a 5-star restaurant as well. So don’t pay heed to such baseless claims. Rather if you want to enjoy the genuine flavor of indigenous food, then you must try street food.

English Can Help You Travel Through Every Place:

It is true that English is a widely spoken language and can help you travel through half of the countries of the world but that is not always the case. There can be part of cities where some people can understand and speak English while some might not have a hint of it. Therefore, kudos to the google translators that can be your personal translator anywhere and anytime.

Luxury Hotels are Worth the Cost:

It is true that we often want to have fancy trips where we can stay at luxury hotels and have fancy dinners, however, the truth is that experience matter more than the accommodation. As long as the hotel is in a safe area, is clean, and has wi-fi you are good to go. You can rather use the money to visit more places and try out more food.

Women Can’t Travelling:

Thankfully, the world has become a better and safer place for women. It is safe for women to travel alone these days. Even if you get to the road, you will see the number of girls living their lives to the fullest and exploring the world all by themselves. There are some places that are not safe to travel to but there are a bunch of other that women can!

Travelling is Easy:

There is a huge difference between a 10 days’ vacation trip and a long-term traveling plan. If you are opting to visit various countries, then keep in mind it can be exhausting. Different time zones change of beds, jetlag, etc. can altogether contribute to your exhaustion, however, every bit of your travel will be worth it!

Now when you have a little clarity about traveling, you must consider planning a trip and experience the truth. Pack your bag, explore the world, live your life to the fullest!
