Multi-instrumentalist and crooner, Casely has released the new single “Never Be Alone”. This beautiful pop piece is an affirmation of love and resilience. Casely sends the listener a bevy of assurance in this endearing track. Emotional and inspirational, “Never Be Alone” is vocally-soaked with love and tenderness.
Casely, based in Miami, Florida, and serenades the listener with his wide vocal range. He can go from sounding like Brian McKnight to Michael Jackson to George Michael in one swoop. He captures the listener in “Never Be Alone” with all the world’s cries in his sensitive, yet provocative voice. He sings so you’ve lost your stride / screaming deep in a crowd deaf to your cries/ and it’s so painful. When he sings the line, it’s so painful, it’s as if he’s harbored the tears of every child on Earth. He repeats the it’s so painful line in the following stanzas, with even more emphasis and tender. It’s like a dramatic heavy sigh.
The music bed sounds like twinkling lights, reflecting from a mirror. The electronic pulses push through like bumps, triggering a modern sense of wonder. The electronic base adds a larger tone, a wider panoramic viewpoint. Casely sings oh, oh, oh and the texturing follows his escape into the heavens. The momentum builds and the listener is left in awe and empowered. It’s only his vocals that overlay the music bed (an undercurrent of mixed fervor running parallel to his emotive channel). It’s easy to stay awhile, and savor that imagery he conveys. One has to ponder if the piano, alone, would have been enough to convey his feelings. I think so. In this track, though, he mesmerizes the listener with a faster tempo.
My favorite line you’re selling lies to yourself/keeping fear alive paints the perfect picture of someone with anxiety. Your brain won’t shut off and as much as you struggle to ignore, it’s a geyser that just keeps bubbling in your gut. Casely’s calming words are straight talk. He says it like it is, with a little bit of sugar coating. He’s very manly, but he’s also very precious. I think hearing this song is like hearing advice and comfort from your best friend. Casely mobilizes the endorphins in your brain that beat out the negative naysayers and unites your brain with your soul. His heartfelt lyrics are a magnet to end the despair.
Casely’s lyric video captures the sentiment. It’s a wide swath of photos and illustrations, colored in vibrant blues, reds, as well as black and white. The writing is in cursive and the font, yes, I’m talking about a font in a music review, seems as if it were handwritten by Casely himself. The son of Trinidadian and Panamanian parents, Casely is a multi-instrumentalist and attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music. He’s also a successful stage and screen actor. Casely’s approach in “Never Be Alone” serves him well. His acting skills bolster the flavoring and the nuance. I never felt like he was disingenuous.
