Watchmaking Kings – Rolex, Omega, and Cartier

The Swiss luxury watchmaking industry is a complex network of brands and watches that has developed over time and has now become one of the most prestigious industries in the whole world. There are numerous brands at work and the funny thing is that each and every brand wants a piece of the cake. That being said, the top spot is reserved for no one. It is all on credit basis and the one who gets the numbers gets to be the best. This blog will talk about the top three watch brands in the Swiss Haute Horlogerie circus and will emphasize on their journey to fame.

Rolex

Rolex is a star that is born once in many generations. The brand logo itself represents a crown and that says a lot about the watchmaker’s attitude. How this thought process manifested to reality is what eventually led to the establishment of the greatest watchmaker that ever existed.

The timepiece debuted like a storm and left like a hurricane. Well, to be honest, it never really left. Even after over a hundred years of its launch, it is still very much present in the brand catalogue and in the hearts of the people.

There is a third category, however, that involves brands that have had a rollercoaster of a ride all throughout history. Omega is one such brand. The Swiss watchmaker was once at the top of the industry with names like Rolex nowhere to be seen. It eventually fell on its knees after the Quartz Crisis. But thanks to some strategic moves and tactics, Omega rose again and found its lost place among the elite.
