INTERVIEW: Sarah Harralson

Welcome Sarah! It’s great to have you here today!  You have a new single out, tell us about it.

I do! It’s called, “Put a Rock on This Rolling Stone” and it’s basically about a girl who is a free spirit and having fun in life, but she wants the right person to come along so she can finally settle down with someone. I think we can all relate to this in our journey for love, and although we might want to settle down, we never want to settle!

What inspires your music?

Since country music relies on storytelling, a lot of my inspiration comes from personal experiences. So relationships I’ve been through, traveling, and even hardships in life are the biggest sources of inspiration for my music. A lot of times I will hear something interesting in a movie or conversation, and will add it to my ‘title ideas’. And then sometimes I just get a melody in my head and will pair it with one of my ideas or titles.

We would love to know – what is your beauty must-have?

Tarte Park-Ave Princess bronzer! This gives such a radiant, shimmery finish in the summer and even a perfect glow in other seasons!

How have you been keeping busy during quarantine?

I have been writing a ton of new music, and have also been doing a lot of virtual live shows from home. This time has also been great to learn new recipes, and I have also been doing a lot of hiking. I also produce music, so I have been able to work on new demos from home.

If you could collaborate with any artist this year, who would it be?

One of my favorite artists has always been The Dixie Chicks (now known as The Chicks), and since they are coming back with new music this year, I would love to collab with them.

What one thing your fans would never guess about you?

I am actually more of an introverted person. I know a lot of people think artists have to be extroverted, but shyness was something I definitely dealt with throughout childhood. Musical theater and acting was something that really helped me with opening up, and music is such a perfect platform to be more open with people.

Where can people listen to your music and connect with you on social media?

My music is available on all listening & streaming platforms, as well as my new music video for “Put a Rock on This Rolling Stone” on YouTube. You can find me on Instagram and Twitter under @SarahHarralson and Facebook under Sarah Harralson Music!
