How would you classify your music?
I would classify my music as a mixture of Smooth Jazz, R&B, and Gospel. Also very nostalgic with a contemporary twist. But most importantly loving and uplifting.
Who are some of your top 5 musical influences?
Prince, Chaka Khan, Sade, Maxwell, and D’Angelo
What do you want fans to take from your music?
That true love does exist, you just have to be patient in finding it. There will be ups and downs until you get it, but keep holding on.
How’s the music scene in your locale?
Right now it’s dead because of the CoronaVirus haha. But normally New York is extremely lively. Something usually is ALWAYS going on in the New York music scene.
What is the best concert you have been to? What do you like most about playing live?
A Force MDs concert. Their charismatic 1985 Billboard hit song “Tender Love” was actually one of the inspirations behind my song “Boom (Love Version).”
Is there a song on your latest CD release here that stands out as your personal favorite, and why?
My latest single “Boom (Love Version)” means the most to me because the world right now is filled with so much hate and the world needs a reminder of how good love feels.
How have you evolved as an artist over the last year?
Lyrically my songs have matured with more thought and wisdom.
If you could meet, play a gig, co-write a song, have dinner, have a drink with any band or artist (dead or alive) who would it be?
It would definitely have been Prince. There are so many things I would have liked to ask him about music and life in general.
What’s next for you?
Definitely reaching bigger audiences and continuing to spread love around the world!
