Hi Cloe, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
I’ve been doing really well!! Keeping busy!!
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “You and Lonely”?
I absolutely love this song. I wrote it a little over a year ago and I’m still very proud of it. I had written it about the things I didn’t think about when letting go of people. I didn’t realize how lonely I would be.
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
I definitely wrote it about specific people in my life.
Any plans to release any sort of video for the track?
Coming soon!! It was obviously filmed during quarantine so we did what we could but I’m happy with the turnout.
How was the recording and writing process?
It was pretty therapeutic. I cried and I never cry during sessions.
What was it like to work with Jayme Silverstein and how did that relationship develop?
I absolutely love Jayme. He’s one of my musical mentors. I met Jayme at a writing camp when I was 12. He’s a genius.
How much did he get to influence the song?
Jayme literally created the song. Without him, there would’ve been no song. He captured exactly what I was upset about.
What role does Clearwater play in your music?
The people from Clearwater have influenced me the most. Clearwater is one of those things I don’t think I could ever leave behind, just because of the people.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
Absolutely!! I just finished an upcoming EP.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
I can’t share either of those yet. Later this year, though 🙂
Any plans to hit the road?
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like it. Due to COVID, my earliest tour date would probably be in 2021.
What else is happening next in Cloe Wilder’ world?
I’m really just fine-tuning this EP. It’s a really cool body of work. Can’t wait for you to hear it!
