Get to Know the Different Types of Kratom

There are three main types of kratom, commonly referred to as strains. These different kratom strains offer a variety of benefits and effects, including increased focus, relaxation, and a mild boost in energy levels.

According to the EMCDDA, just a few grams of kratom per dose can deliver mild effects within 10 minutes after ingestion, and results can last up to 1 1/2 hours.

Red Vein

This is the mildest and most affordable of the kratom strains, making it the best option for new users. In fact, this strain is so mellow that it isn’t even generally considered a stimulant.

When taken in small doses, red vein kratom has been reported to offer a mild sedative effect that might help its users to feel calm and relaxed.

Green Vein

Green vein kratom is the middle of the road option between red and white. So, it’s popular among intermediate users.

Sometimes used as a stimulant, green vein kratom may offer users a mild energy boost, better mental clarity, and increased focus.

White Vein

Outside of specialty strains like Maeng Da, white kratom is the most potent of the major kratom strains. So, it’s not ideal for users who are new to the supplement.

White kratom is believed to have a stronger stimulant effect than its red and green counterparts. When taken in low quantities, it is associated with increased energy, stamina, and endurance.

Exotic Strains

Once you’re more experienced with using this supplement, you might want to explore some of the other kratom varieties.

Strains of kratom are often named after their point of origin, as is the case with popular options like Borneo White and Green Malay kratom powder. Keep in mind; these specialty kratom types are often much stronger than standard varietals, so they aren’t best for beginners.

Rare and powerful forms of kratom are also slightly more expensive than the traditional red, green, and white. But, you’ll need a lower dose. This makes them a good value for long-time users.

Getting Started With Kratom

Now that you know about the different types of kratom, you’re probably excited to give it a try.

Be sure to start with a low dose of a mild strain, and add more to your routine later if you prefer. And, as with any supplement, you should speak to your doctor before using kratom if you have any severe health conditions.
