Top 6 Déjà vu Moments for The Simpsons Fans

Simpsons has a long history of predicting the future. Back in the 90s when most of us glued to TV screens to watch Simpsons, we weren’t aware of what was being said. If you have never watched Simpsons before, we do recommend watching Disney+. Just subscribe to the Disney+ channel on your cable TV and binge-watch the season. If you want you can always search up its part online as well! Just remember to have an internet connection as good as AT&T internet and you’re good to binge it up! You would love to watch some of the future predictions that are relatable today.

If you are one of those millennials who grew up watching Simpsons, you might have missed some details that were told well before time. A complete Déjà vu moment. Let’s refresh your memory and walk you through some of the predictions done by The Simpsons.

1.      Acquiring 21st Century Fox by Disney

Disney acquired 21st Century Fox back in 2017 for $52 billion. Big companies do acquire other companies to scale their business and revenue. But the point is how did The Simpsons writer knew that Disney would acquire 21St Century Fox back in November 1998.

In one of the episodes of The Simpsons “When you Dish Upon a Star” a sign clearly states “20th Century Fox, a division of Walt Disney”. When talking about this merger, Jean couldn’t give a satisfactory answer as to how did they predicted well before time. He says that it happens and there are always mergers.

Are you satisfied with the statement? Is it a coincidence? Or something that writers saw in the crystal ball. That’s something mysterious. Just stick to it; there are some other eye-popping future predictions as well.

2.      The Trump Presidency

Back in 2000, one of the episodes “Bart to the Future” predicted the next president of America none other than Donald Trump. After more than a decade, the prediction became reality. An interview with the writer Dan Greaney to “The Hollywood Reporter” said that the prediction was done something out of fun and as a warning as well.

In one of the episodes, Trump was also seen going down the escalators waving hands at the people. The scene was no different when Trump was walking down the escalators back in 2015.

The question arises, whether the writers are predicting things on their own, or are they part of the global scripted system. In our opinion, the elections, wars, and other global turmoil are all part of the plan and scripted well before anyone realizes.

3.      Lady Gaga Super Bowl Halftime Show

There is something spooky about “The Simpsons”. Back in 2012, one of the episodes showed Lady Gaga performing in the Springfield dangling in midair. After five years, the same Lady Gaga was seen in real life flying off the Houston NRG Stadium roof. Is it just another coincidence or the writers are from the future who write scripts to gain attention – not as a fortune teller, but as visionaries. God knows what and how do they do that.

4.      The U.S beats Sweden in the Winter Olympics 2018

The biggest upset was seen back in Winter Olympics 2018 when the U.S Curling team defeated hot favorite Sweden and bagged a gold medal. In 2010, The Simpsons episode “Boy Meets Curl” showed Homer and Marge compete in Olympics in Vancouver and successfully defeated Sweden. Originally, the U.S Men’s team won a gold medal from Sweden, despite that they were behind. It was exactly portrayed in The Simpsons episode.

5.      Ebola Outbreak

The Simpsons yet again predicted the Ebola virus 17 years before the outbreak of the virus in 2014. In “The Simpsons” episode “Lisa Sax”, Marge recommends reading a book named “Curious George and the Ebola Virus” to sick Bart. The virus wasn’t known to the world and nor did it widespread back in 1990. However, the virus was recognized worldwide after the discovery in 1976 and the outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.

6.      Smartwatches

If you ask someone who gave the idea of the smartwatch in the early 90s. The majority of people would answer Apple. However, to your surprise, Apple released the first watch in 2014. The Simpsons idea of the smartwatch was shown back in the year 1995 way before Apple released its first smartwatch.

Summing Up

Crystal balls can likely predict the future, which could become a reality – a chance one out of millions. But not in the case of The Simpsons, which has hinted many times about the future happenings.
