Hi Alice, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
Hey! Thank you, I’ve been well all things considered.
Can you talk to us more about your latest single "Still Thinking Of Me"?
It is my first single which is hugely rewarding. I have been writing quite intensely over the past year so to finally have put a song out feels incredible. The song explores the feelings you are sometimes left with after an extremely vivid dream, and how those feelings can really alter your reality.
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
A dream! I wrote the song the day after I dreamt about a situation that I didn’t even realise had been bothering me for quite some time. It was very therapeutic.
Any plans to release any sort of video for the track?
This is yet to be announced…but there is some kind of visual almost ready to be delivered.
How was the recording and writing process?
Like I said, it was super therapeutic. I wrote the song with two writers who are now really good friends, and they just allowed me to talk and talk until we somehow ended up with the song. It was really easy to write, we were finished within a few hours.
What role does London play in your music?
Pretty much all my favourite writers and producers are in London and that’s where I met them! It’s very much home musically for me, I feel inspired there all the time.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
Absolutely! I don’t want to give away too much, but there is a lot of new music ready to be released this year.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
The next single will be out in mid July if all goes to plan! That one is about being horribly unable to let go of someone haha.
What other aspect of real life situation will you get to explore on this record?
All of the music coming out this year has been created from my experiences and pain haha. It is all relationship based, there’s no real story being released, just a bunch of songs that helped me get through some tough times and I hope can help others too!
Any plans to hit the road?
As soon as I can, I will! I’m yet to play live with this original music, so I am very excited.
What else is happening next in Alice L’s world?
Apart from staying indoors and watering my houseplants…more music. Adding the final touches to all of the singles and accidentally writing the next bunch!
