Following the release of their stunning comeback single ‘Hello Spirit’ last month, Swedish duo Slide now continue their upward ascent as they deliver new single, alt-pop belter ‘Waiting’.

Listen to ‘Waiting’ here –

Marking the second new offering since the release of their debut EP ‘Into Happiness’ last year, the Stockholm-based pair returns with yet more genre-bending sounds on this bold and vibrant new cut that focuses on the theme of love being the antidote to fear. With its bouncing production and nods to artists like Blackbear and Dominic Fike, ‘Waiting’ links up with ‘Hello Spirit’ in previewing their forthcoming new EP ‘Things I Tell Myself’, which is set to arrive later this year.

Speaking about their new cut, they said, “‘Waiting’ is about a lot of things. I think it was just a reflection on everything going through my mind at the time like love, life, death, success, failure and even global warming in some regard. I realised I was really scared about the future and the only thing that made me calm was talking about these things with my girlfriend and how love is kind of this eternal larger than life thing you know?”.

With their upcoming release of ‘Things I Tell Myself’ EP, they’ve decided to rip it up and start again. It doesn’t just exceed expectations but defies their own past – embracing that rebellious punk spirit to coalesce new sounds and daring soundscapes: you’re more likely to find swaggering hip-hop beats, pop sensibilities and an unparalleled attitude than your standard rock fare. The tunes are all the better for it.
