PREMIERE: Lola Astanova Reimagines Classical with New EDM Release “Elise Was Here”

Lola Astanova is an Emmy Award-winning pianist who constantly rattles the classical genre. Once again, she is turning classical on its head with the release of a new single titled “Elise Was Here” fusing Beethoven’s “Fur Elise” with waves of contemporary electro. The track was released by Sony Music Entertainment on May 1st, 2020, marking an explorative journey for the soviet classical pianist.

She is widely recognized as the world’s most followed piano performer according to Pianist Magazine, where she graced the cover of issue 111. Astanova’s sound is in a way eternal, one moment she is joining forces with Hauser to deliver a magical performance of Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven, and in the next glimpse, she is seen performing a powerful piano rendition of We Are The Champions by Queen.

Astanova brings back the art of classical performance in a modern way, her fashion-forward approach and experimental nature are the ingredients for the beginnings of a musical revolution.

This is Astanova’s first collaboration with 8-time Grammy and Latin Grammy-winning producer, Julio Reyes Copello, who has also produced music with Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, and Shakira.

Speaking on Elise Was Here, Astanova says “This track is the first of several that will be featured in my new live show, and I hope that both classical/crossover and electronic music fans will be excited to take this journey with me.”
