Interview: Kendall Joshua aka KJTheRevolution

Hi KJTheRevolution! How are you?

Hey! I’m doing great, glad to be here.

Where are you from?

I’m from New York

What is your greatest inspiration for your music?

One of my greatest inspirations was Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly, and I am at a point where I inspire myself

What are 3 words that describe your music?

Intense, honest, delightful

What is the hardest subject you’ve ever written about?

I like this question, but there is no real answer because writing isn’t hard for me, it just flows. But the toughest subject I’ve written about was my suicidal thoughts. Oftentimes people don’t think young people can be depressed or faced with mental challenges that aren’t necessarily rooted in external circumstances, but it is real. My generation’s biggest issues are the internal battle and inevitable loneliness we face as a result of being connected and plugged into everything that we don’t even feel ourselves.

What are the challenges of being an artist?

The challenges of being an artist is living up to expectations that get placed upon you by admirers especially, and the overall general public. It’s like, I know  you see me as this figure, and I don’t want to let you down dude, and also being misunderstood where any message I make is distorted or taken the wrong way.

Are you planning on releasing new music soon?

Of course I plan on releasing more music, I have so much. Follow my socials to stay updated on it.
