Singer/songwriter Olivia O’Brien keeps her unstoppable roll going with the new “Josslyn (Remix)” featuring rapper 24kGoldn. This is the first collaboration between two of the most promising rising artists which is poised to be an instant hit. As she always does, Olivia brings her glittering pop prowess to the track and shows just why she’s considered one of the finest songwriters around. With her reputation for crafting emotional pop bangers, she solicits the help of singer and rapper 24kGoldn to paint a poignant portrait of someone who knows they’ve done wrong. 24kGoldn’s energetic verse drifts naturally into a wistful register that is guaranteed to pull on the iciest of heartstrings, but the unfaithful lover’s plea is nonetheless shrugged off by O’Brien’s empowering chorus.

The lively standout track “Josslyn” comes hot off her second micromixtape The Results of My Poor Judgement released earlier this year and is laced with the young artist’s signature poetic vulnerability as well as comedic vulgarity. Motivated by the discovery of her love interest’s infidelity, the 20-year-old pop singer’s raw heartbreak comes through loud and clear in the song’s unforgettable chorus: “But now we’re off and we’ll never be on again//I hope that it was worth it f*cking Josslyn.” The remix further strengthens the track’s quick infiltration of the upper echelons of the mainstream and there is no stopping it.

Earlier this month, Olivia dropped a new music video for her viral smash “Josslyn,” which is a standout piece in the age of at-home DIY content amid social distancing. The new visual is vibrant and chaotic, certainly reflective of the new reality of life under self-quarantine as it was filmed entirely at her home. The LA-based pop princess’ homemade video, charmed with a DIY aesthetic and dance moves for when you are alone in your bedroom, shows just how much untapped creative energy she has. The feisty single is an anthem for anyone who has been in a promising relationship with someone only to find out they were unfaithful with their respective ‘Josslyn,’ making it the ultimate at-home breakup track. Olivia O’Brien remains one of pop music’s true gems and has certainly set the bar high for future tracks.
