INTERVIEW: Trenten Priest

Hi Trenten, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

I have been great! Despite the uncertainty going on in this world now, I haven’t lost focus!

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Work For It”? Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

So right off the bat when you listen to this song, you feel PUMPED! This is exactly what I had in mind with the song. I wrote this song to inspire you to get out of bed and do push ups, or drop that single, or whatever you need to do to feel accomplished.

Do you plan on releasing a Music Video for Work for it?

Yes I do plan on shooting a video, but unfortunately my vision requires a lot of hype people to be in the video , and unfortunately that’s not likely at the moment.

How was the recording and writing process?

It actually went pretty smooth!

N7 is a very talented dude, he was able to snap on the track so fast and stayed on topic, which is very nice for a feature.

What was it like to work with N7 and what did he bring to the table?

N7 is signed to Major Label Empire Records, so it’s nice to get my foot in the door with this track!

Do you tend to take a different approach when you are collaborating with someone else rather than working on your own?

Yes I usually study the artist before I reach out, the reason I do this is to fill out the vibes, and I try to match the artists flow as much as possible, so that it will flow that much better.

What role does Miami play in your music?

Well let’s see… I LOVE MIAMI.

I have made a lot of great connections there and have made some decent moves there as well. I would say I keep that fun optimistic Miami Vibe in all of my music.

With each of music gaining more and more popularity – did you feel any pressure when you were putting this song together or rather the opposite?

Well I have worked with people in the industry before like Zaytoven and Canadian Rapper Madchild, and to be honest working with bigger artists have always excited me. It let’s me know I’m that much closer!

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

Definitely, have A LOT of new material that I am working on every day!

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

I was born January 18th so I have decided to release a new single every 18th of every month this year. And yes I know the title of my next release but that’s for you to wait and see…

What else is happening next in Trenten Priest’ world?

CHANGE. Change is coming.

For the good, for the better, and for Trenten Priest everything will be just fine:)
